I have positive & negative feelings about this build.

It's good to see such a number of errors getting fixed. But it's also clear from viewing the TRAC files that a number of bugs/errors have simply being postponed to 5.1 or haven't been addressed at all.

What's particularly of concern to me is that some of the things that were WORKING in 5.01 and broken in 5.02 aren't being corrected. The one show-stopper for us is that ability to link clients to EXISTING products without creating new products. I can't understand why that would be so hard to fix that it needs to slide even further into the future.

I wonder how many other issues fall into this.

I second with Robert. I think its imperative to have all the baselines covered before targeting for the next version release. Subversion release like 5.0.3 should cater to all the features of existing version with above and beyond and not break certain things and patch them up later.

As Robert pointed out, another thing that I noticed in the Rel 5 version so far is the ability to navigate between records under any entity viz. Account, Contacts, Potential and so forth. So, if I need to check out couple of Accounts/ Contacts or any other entity records in sequence, presently I have to go to the particular link like Accounts and then I see a list of all Accounts and then I need to select a specific Account to see the details. Now if I need to go to one prior, next, first or last Account then I need to go to the same Account menu and bring out the search page every now and then to navigate. This is quite cumbersome and untidy. One should have a arrow kind of links positioned at the header section of any entity detailed view and should be able to navigate easily.
Besides, I feel the smoothness of the application is addressed in 5.0.3 with respect to 5.0.2 and I firmly believe if through the community we are able to define new themes more pleasing and appealing and make the menu less confusing without repeating the sub menu elements we can easily give SugarCRM a tough competition!

Hi!

If at any point in time, I find that there is a need for further delay due to quality issues, please be rest assured that will be done.
I am in no hurry to have the 5.0.3 out of the door. That is the last mistake I want to do.

I want the best possible product out and that is the only yardstick. I will ask Philip to cross-check what Robert and Russell have said and if true, be assured that they will be assured.

John, look up the forum post about the links please.

Dear Luis,

In 5.0.2 we can relate a product with a single contact (client) by selecting a contact when create product.

This is applicable for Leads/Accounts/Contacts/Potentials
Now we have changed this functionality.
so that you can associate n number of Leads/Accounts/Contact/Potentials to any number of products.

ie., From Lead/Account/Contact/Potential relatedlist you can select any number of products and in the same time from Product related list you can select any number of Lead/Account/Contact/Potential
Hope this is what you expected right?

Thanks & Regards
Mickie

I agree with everything said here. I´d like to point also that there are useful things laying there that are not being used like the "member of" accounts feature. I can´t believe tha when I see the master Organization it´s empty when all childs got business going. Just my half cent.

I'm willing to QA the French version of 5.0.3.
Could you tell me where to find it?

Mickie, you have miss read Luis' post and are desperately overcomplicating what he is talking about. From a lead or contact you cannot attach an existing product, only create a new product. Try it.
