There were so many tempting options to go with but I felt that to do justice to the product, we will require till April first week. I will be keeping a further one week as buffer. The worst case scenario, we will have April 2nd week as the release but then this is the worst case scenario. Already, we are seeing the bugs getting dried up and the quality being more or less stable. The internationalization part is being handled with true vengeance!So that too is getting settled finally! A lot of good things have happened in 5.0.3 and I hope that you all will appreciate that. The time taken is well spent and I hope that too is observed. The team has put in a lot of effort and I realised that they too are eager to let go of 5.0.3 but then the product is almost 90% ready. It has to go the full distance and I know it is painful but it has to be done that way. If not now, then doing it later, will be only the more expensive. Sometimes I feel I am being too liberal, sometimes I feel that this is needed and have to do it. Shit, sometimes, I confuse myself too but then something has to be done because that is the right thing to do confusion or not. vtiger till now was doing the things right in the release handling part, now it is mandatory to do the Right Thing- let it be painful. With the stability that 5.0.3 promises, I can't wait starting to use more of the features already implemented and can envision all the new cool stuff that potentially will become available from vtiger and other developers. Salesforce.com and SugarCRM have so far gotten the brunt, if not all of press -- however, when it becomes clear that there is stable and professional alternative, with more features, without cost, and with clear open source licensing -- the tides will turn and I predict there will be huge success for vtiger and the vtiger team.
