Hi,

Thanks for the update. I'm having some issues with the webmail client and wondered if they had been raised already?

Firstly, when sending multiple emails from a filter list, it needs to put the addresses in the BCC field. I suppose the problem is that when only 1 contact is selected to want it in the To field.

Has anyone looked at this?

Hi Ken,

The emails sent from vtiger are addressed individually, although multiple email address are copied into To Field on compose email pop up, the contact will see only his email address while reading the mail.

Hope this clarifies your question.

Prasad

Hi Tom,

As we will be addressing the issues with vtiger, the code changes almost every day. So we are not putting out the source zips (*.tar.gz)

To know more about basics of SVN usage,
kindly refer to: http://forums.vtiger.com/viewtopic.php?t=18338

Thank you for giving us a hand in testing.

The plug-ins works with Office 2007, Outlook 2007. Make sure you are using compatible versions of both plug-ins and vtigercrm.

Perhaps it would be a good idea if you updated en.vtiger.com/wip with a more recent version so people can test it more easily if they are not SVN confident?

Getting very close to 5.04 GA, congratulations.

I am very curious about what happens to the road map with 5.04 GA being approximately 3 months over due. Can a statement about 5.1 (December 07) and 6.1 be made?

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the complements.

We are sorry for having skipped out on the earlier schedule on 5.0.4 GA.

vtiger 5.0.4 is just not 5.0.3 + bug fixes but has several features like send email from campaigns, role based picklist, etc...

We have made an attempt to provide good UTF-8 support compared to our vtiger 5.0.4 validation1 phase. To achieve this several rounds of testing was required.

Community response towards validation is continuing great, which is helping us address issues that is either untapped by us or related to different language.

After having spent good amount of effort, we do not want to rush ourselves for 5.0.4 GA unless we address critical and major issues.

Hope you are with us in this viewpoint.

We will keep you updated on 5.1, once we strike the bell and rollover 5.0.4 GA

Prasad

Hi Tim,

I might be wrong, but I feel, you are a bit like I was just before Christmas... I could hardly await the new release to come... always hoping for the next day! Getting more and more unhappy, because of wrong expectations.
Then, I luckily found out about the roadmap, because that gave me a realistic picture of what is going on.

I saw all the great activities that are done by the developers. And they always answering our question in a nice way, although it must be frustrating for them sometimes, too. I'm sure they wanted to follow their original roadmap, but it was just not possible...
Here is the right link, to look at:
http://trac.vtiger.com/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/roadmap

KEEP ON DOING SUCH A GREAT JOB, GUYS!!!!

Hi guys,
Thanks for a good product. I like the fact that there is actually happening things all the time and that problems are fixed and that you actually know where to write if you have issues etc etc... I'm trying to be ONLY in a open source environment the whole way through.

So here are the issues I have stumbled upon the last 2 weeks I have started with this product:

1) The pending activities you see on the front page should be personalized so each user can set if he wants to see the next 7 days, 1 day, 30 days, whatever he wants. So he can prepare the upcoming events.

2) If you wanna create To-Do's for another user, you can ONLY do so if you are in a higher role than he is, not even if you have the same role as the other person. That should be a choice, so if the user will NOT accept it, he should mark that in a setting what he will accept.

3) If you create for example a MEETING and invite other users, the event is not added to the other users' calendar, so as soon as the email notification is deleted, you have no clue what you said yes to. It seriously can't be right that you have to create the event AGAIN in your own calendar. It should be listed as invitation events that you can accept, so it's automatically added to your calendar.

4) If you create a NOTE and you once in a while change the format of the text, size, color, whatever, the look of the note gets worse and worse and suddenly with several linebreaks between each line. EVEN THOUGH it looks good when you EDIT the note, as soon as you SAVE it, it looks terrible.

5) When you edit a PICKLIST as administrator and wants to chance the sorting of it, it is NOT sorted that way, when you see it as a standard user. As a standard user the picklists somehow are sorted alphabetically, which is odd. If you are administrator, the picklists in accounts, contacts etc are sorted like you have sorted them in the picklist editor.

6) Another thing about picklists. IF you want to add another option to a picklist you have to do this for every of the roles you have created, which is pretty anoying and can take some time, if you have a lot of roles. It should be possible just to choose "FOR ALL ROLES", INCLUDING the administrator, which somehow still has the original pick-lists and not the new data you have edited in the original pick-lists.

7) You should be able to do some changes in the design of the quote pdf you send out. For example so it's only 1 page, for example so the watermark is not there and many other things.

8) If you create a quote containing different products/partnumbers, then if you search for one of these partnumbers it doesn't find the quote.

9) I think it's weird that the mandatory in creating a partnumber is not the part-number, which is usually the "unique" thing about products. If I have a trouble-ticket concerning a specific product I wanna see the PART NUMBER, not the product-name.

10) When you edit your own preferences, the Internal Mail Composer ALWAYS turns back to YES, even though you say NO. That is if you push the EDIT button on top of the page. And even if you only want to edit some other stuff.

11) I can't seem to find where you can change the currency for the different accounts. Also this should be changeable on the specific quote you create or at LEAST on the account, so when you create a quote, it's in EURO's or something else than US Dollars. And YES I have created the different currencies on the administrator page.

12) I seriously hope that you are thinking about another type of IMPORT. For example a MERGE thing, SEARCH AND REPLACE under given filters or something so you can CHANGE specific options on a give MASS of CONTACTS or ACCOUNTS. I have just imported 12700 contacts in this system and 5000 accounts. Now I have a list of approx. 1000 more, but I want it to for example check the email address if it exists already and then make the changes for the given contact, because I know for sure that even though the contact/account exist already, it will be created AGAIN, making a doublet, so there will be a LOT of cleaning up afterwards.

13) I know this version is a RC, but if you didn't notice already, the plugin for Thunderbird is not working with this version. I guess you are waiting for the final release...?

I'm sure if I brain-storm myself I will find a lot more, but the points above is just what I have found so far. I will note down whenever I think of anything ;-)

LOOKING FORWARD to the next update... and I hope the migration works from 5.04RC....;-)

Thanks;-)

If you create a quote containing different products/partnumbers, then if you search for one of these partnumbers it doesn’t find the quote.

9) I think it’s weird that the mandatory in creating a partnumber is not the part-number, which is usually the “unique” thing about products.

11) I can’t seem to find where you can change the currency for the different accounts. Also this should be changeable on the specific quote you create or at LEAST on the account, so when you create a quote, it’s in EURO’s or something else than US Dollars.

13) I know this version is a RC, but if you didn’t notice already, the plugin for Thunderbird is not working with this version. I guess you are waiting for the final release…?

I’m sure if I brain-storm myself I will find a lot more, but the points above is just what I have found so far. I will note down whenever I think of anything

LOOKING FORWARD to the next update… and I hope the migration works from 5.04RC….;-)

Thanks;-)
BR
Martin

Hello vtigers,

Thank you for the UTF-8 support.
When viewing FDFs with Hebrew text (tested today with your new 5.04 demo server), it showing "ןונמא ןיקפיל" instead of "אמנון ליפקין".

probably it's the same with Arabic and Persian languages.

We have finally gone live with vTiger.

We've noticed that Notes in the More Information page for an Account of Contact are not sorted in any particular order.

We'd like to be able to select a sort order (ascending or descending) by date. Right now, it probably displays the notes by order they were entered into the database.

Is this possible?

Personally, I think all column headers should be clickable and sortable ascending or descending...

Thanks, thanks, thanks for the long awaiting UTF-8 support!
Export to pdf now works!!! Before, first we had to create invoices and quotes in vtiger. Then we had to create the same invoice or quote in some other app like openoffice who could export files to PDF without losing the local characters. Now we don't have to mess with openoffice and store duplicate files of invoices and quotes. TNX again.

Hi prasad,

thanks, thanks and thanks again. I am very impressed, the UTF8 support works nearly perfect.

Only one point still have to be fixed:

After the first "Umlaut" (e.g. ß ü ö) the mail content is truncated in Webmail.

But again:

I thank you and the whole vtiger team very very much for the great work!!!!

Best Regards
