   Hi. Thanks for the news. But I think it’d be better to have this addon as a patch file (because I’ve allready done some customization on my vtiger). Who must I ask?

   Hi,

   In the past I’ve user vtiger 5.0.3 with the previous ProjectManagement Module, then migrated to 5.0.4. Obviously the install.sql content produces duplicate entry errors. I’d appreciate if you could provide an upgrade.sql sequence for migration or a recipy to completely discard the old database project structure before running install.sql.

   Using 5.0.4
   new install for Project Management v3.
   As per the instructions I uploaded folder “modul project (504) v 3″ under my domain/data.

   i.e. xxxxx.com/data/modul project (504) v 3/

   I then loaded phpmyadmin as per instructions and selected my vtiger db.

   I then clicked the SQL tab. Then cut and paste the install.sql code and ran it.

   Run “SUCCESSFUL”

   I rebooted the server and logged in as Admin.

   When I click on the “Sales” menu item “Project” does not appear. There is a double separator though, which I am expecting the location for “Project”. I could see a few pixels between the spectators so I clicked it to see if Project would come up. Nothing happened.

   I then went back to the Main Sales tab and clicked that to get the full Sales menu. The Sub menu for Sales comes up but NO Project in sub menu.

   As I was logged in as Admin I went to “Settings>Profile Privileges>Viewing Administrator”

   Under the Heading “Modules to be Shown” there is an entry at the very end with a blank module name. There is a check mark there but the entry is blank. “Create/Edit” “View” “Delete” all have check marks for this new blank entry/module. As well the “Fields and Tools Settings” column for the blank module has no expand/collapse icon.

   I believe I followed the install instructions to a “T” i.e. exactly as per the PDF instructions.

   I feel like I have to guess at why this is broken as perhaps the install instructions is leaving some information out.

   Why is this install broken?

   Are there in plans to intergrate this into the vTiger core, I think this would add a lot of value to vTiger.

   I don’t think this is a god idea. Different Solutions has been nothing but unresponsive to continuous inquiries both here and commercially from my side.

   Hi Mr. Schmied,

   we are working hard on developing new features for the Project Management Modul and will share this with community, we also working on a update for those who installed the version 2.0.

   And this was free for the community.

   I cannot judge whether you are working hard or not. You certainly have to learn to communicate with customers when approached with commercial inquiries several times. I have been nothing but ignored so far. For the time being your company is no option for commercial projects for me.

    You might want to check out SugarCRM. It costs money if you want the same features that vTiger has (at least has on the surface), in fact it’s quite expensive.

    On the other hand, the features SugarCRM has, that you pay for, come with pretty good support, and the features are quite complete.

    In vTiger, some features exist on the surface but they are not polished. For example the multi-currency support is very lacking to the point of being almost unusable (this may change in 5.1).

    In short, what I am saying is that if you are a very serious corporation, or looking to be one in the next 6 to 12 month, then vTiger is not a very good option because you can not depend on it as much as you can depend on SugarCRM.
