At the end of installation, I get a line before the block “vtiger is all set to go”

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /var/www/itc-gestion/install/CreateTables.php:34) in /var/www/xxxxxx/install/CreateTables.inc.php on line 31

Is it coming from my install ?
The install seems normal excepted this line.
    Is it ?

  4. on 22 Jul 2009 at 6:25 am Asha

    Hi vinzdrance,

The installation should still be fine. You can carry forward with the CRM.

    Hi All

    problem sorted

i could install a new version of 5.1, i just could not migrate my existing 5.04.

i resolved this by installing a clean 5.04 version locally, importing into this my production database, and ran the migration script.

i then exported this database onto my web host were the new 5.1 install was running.

looks really good, all my data is present, will set about configuring the CP

    hope that goes well

    steve

In order to upgrade from 5.0.4 to 5.1, does the database in 5.0.4 environment have to be InnoDB, rather than MyISAM?

    Thanks in advance!
    –Wei

  27. on 24 Jul 2009 at 10:53 am Prasad

    @Wei,

You should make sure certain core tables are in InnoDB engine to have the primary-foreign key relation to succeed.

During migration the system checks and reports the tables which are not in the right format and let you fix it.

    @ wei,

During migration from vtigercrm 5.0.4 to vtigercrm 5.1.0 table type gets checked and if it is not of InnoDB type than user gets option to convert them to InnoDB.

Let us know if you need more information on this.

Just did a very simple migration from 5.0.4 to 5.1.0 by simply copying over the source files into the root directory of my productive system. Worked flawlessly on a simple managed webspace with 1 and 1.

  31. on 24 Jul 2009 at 2:05 pm Aniruddha

Thanks! Unfortunately I get the following error when trying to migrate:

“The Source specified doesn’t seem to be existing.”

  32. on 24 Jul 2009 at 2:22 pm Aniruddha

I solved the above error by entering the complete path ( eg /home/user/public_html/vtiger.

  33. on 24 Jul 2009 at 2:32 pm Robert

    Hey guys!

    Excellent work!
Just updated 2 websites from 5.1RC to 5.1
For some strange reason, when entering a phone number as +1 on the one server it eliminates the + after saving. The other server works on that end but returns a 500 error when using quick create lead. It must be a config issue. Both worked great with 5.04 for over a year.
    Any hints?

    All the best,

    Robert

  34. on 24 Jul 2009 at 2:58 pm Aniruddha

Hi, Great job but what about the project management module?

  36. on 25 Jul 2009 at 7:37 am Deep

    Hi Guys,

A heartiest congratulations on the release, its a tremendous effort from you all and you guys really deserve a break now!!

Its quite a big release so not many people will be asking for more for sometime now, so please get your house in order and think clearly how you wanna move forward. If I repeate my advice, have atleast one release in 3-4 months, it will be lot easier to manage and will have less shouting followers like me :-)

    Cheers!!

  37. on 25 Jul 2009 at 10:14 am Wei

during the migration, if the PHP settings are not as recommended by the migration script, where do I change them (max_execution_time, error_reporting, log_errors, read/write access: smarty module directory, etc.)?

    thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Congrats on the new Release !! I just set up vtiger 504 a few days back ! I love the way it works ! I was waiting for 510 release ! I am using the simple pdf configurator (CRM-now) to generate custom Quotes. I am not sure how long would they take to launch the updated version..

Do you have any suggestions ? Since we have just started using vtiger I would like to migrate soon ! My only issue is the pdf configuration ! I would appreciate if you could help me out with some advice !

First, Thanks for the update. You have a great product which takes a lot of the busy work out of managing leads and keeping track of projects.

I’ll admit i’m having installation issues using simplescripts through bluehost to upgrade a 5.0.4 installation to 5.1.0, and i’m hoping someone’s having a similar issue that could offer assistance -

The upgrade seems to go through alright with a little lag (it pauses at 20% and 50% progress before completing). It says the upgrade is succesful, but when one tries to actually access the site, it redirects from index.php to install.php and throws a 404 error for install.php. Install.php is confirmed missing from the directory, ruling out capitalization errors.

    Again, any assistance is appreciated

The demo is currently broken, php errors, no users, can’t add data, and the navigation is missing….. i know it is not my browsers, because its php and database errors appearing on the website

    Hi anthony,

The demo is back to the stable state now. You can try it out now.

    Hi,

I have installed 5.1.0.Installation went fine and I am able to login and see the example data.

Well, the problem is, it is too slow. If i click on any thing, such as accounts, calendar, leads etc…it takes more than 20 seconds to open up.

I am not sure what is the problem.

I tried hosting it on 3 local servers in our company. All these are new machines.

can anyone please tell me whether I am observing something obvious ?

May I recommend that you use a hosting provider that either automates the install or has skilled sysadmins who can/will help you.

A crm system is a complex beast and if you are unable to figure out simple php errors then I think it would better if you hired a expert to help you. No offense meant, just that experts are fairly cheap to come by and can save you a lot of time and hassle.

For this error I would check that your php.ini file has output buffering set to on.

    Have a great day.

  53. on 01 Aug 2009 at 3:57 pm Tom

    Dear Vtigers,

as different hosting providers do NOT support innoDB, I would like to ask wether it’s possible to install 5.1.0 without innoDB?
If yes what is the downside?

I also would like to know why we have to change to Inno-DB?
    http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman//5.1/en/innodb-restrictions.html
The latest RC worked fine for me with myisam.

  56. on 05 Aug 2009 at 12:33 pm Tom

    Dear Prasad,

is it really mandatory to have innodb for installation?
Migration says: “Your database table engine is not the recomended engine ‘Innodb’…”
So is it not recommended or mandatory to have????
Not all hoster support innodb, mine doesn’t, that may be a problem not only for me..

I would appreciate an answer ;-)

    Thanks,

    Hi,
I’m thrilled by the new 5.1.0. i have tested it all the way from the beta version to the current release. However i am not able to migrate my operational CRM to the new version. I get a failed query during migration…like (see below)

FAILURE insert into vtiger_attachmentsfolder values (1,’Existing Notes’,'Contains all Notes migrated from the earlier version’,1,1)

How can i sort this out? Help please because am eager to start my users on it.

  58. on 07 Aug 2009 at 6:36 pm Horst

    Dear Vtiger team

Congratulations for all the effort made.

Especially Multi Currency possibilities will please lots of users.
Anyhow, why Renminbis of China are not in the picklist?
Please provide an instruction for manual add up currencies when they are not in the pick list.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Horst

  59. on 08 Aug 2009 at 12:22 am wamosho

    @ Horst
Dont have a manual but i have added currency seeing as Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania Shilling are also not included.

You need to add the currencies in the database tables called vtiger_currency and vtiger_currency_info

Then proceed to include them in the picklist by adding them to the language.php file you are using….in my case it was the include\language_en.php
    hope this helps

wen I tried to upgrade, I received the following error message after I clicked the “Next” button in the System Confirguration screen. I am very sure that all the informaiton I enter for the source code location, previous version, admin login ID, password, and database name are all correct.

“ERR - Unable to connect to database Server. Invalid mySQL Connection Parameters specified
This may be due to the following reasons: - specified database user, password, hostname, database type, or port is invalid. More Information - specified database user does not have access to connect to the database server from the host”

    Dear Prasad,

I’m sorry to wear the old hat again :)

Its been almost two moths that we had release 5.1. By now you should have announced some kind of roadmap, its about time now.

Ideally, you should have worked on two branches [5.1.1 and 5.2.0] and in two months should have released one bug fix release, fixing all critical and major issues and leaving enhancements and patches for 5.2.0. In that case waiting for 5.2 for six months also is acceptable.

I hope you guys will give some consideration to my words.

    Thanx & Regards,
    Deep

  68. on 17 Sep 2009 at 9:59 pm Prasad

    Deep,

    Thanks for getting back.

Our Support team is currently working round-the-clock to help users migrate or install 5.1.0. They recently shared the following opinion:

We are seeing good responses on 5.1.0 which has reduced the number of un-installation mails.

We will need sometime to roll out another version, just hurrying up might not be good.

Our Development team has started the work on 5.2.0 to which the fixes or new features are getting rolled in regularly.

Our Enhancement team is busy tied up with R&D in planning for new ideas of improving the features and also porting the earlier extensions.

You are welcome to try the development branch and contribute bug fixes for issues http://trac.vtiger.com and support our development.

    Thank you,

I have installed VTiger on my Fedora C12 machine and I have it running almost perfectly fine. I can log in, add users, add widgets, etc. but I CANNOT add anything else.

For instance, if I to to Marketing > Campaigns > Create a Campaign and I add in all required information and save, I get a PHP error (blank page) result. No errors thrown in the logs that I can find.

Any help? We are very much liking the entire application, but would obviously like it to work.

    Thanks in advance.
