We are happy to announce the availability of vtigercrm-5.0.4-RC today.

Our major focus was to provide UTF-8 support, fix security issues and few feature enhancements.

We request our community to test UTF-8 support with different languages and report issues to us at the earliest.

For vtigercrm-5.0.4 GA we will be addressing the critical and major issues that are reported in this RC Build.

A new version 2.0 of the Projectmangement Modul for vtiger was published. The new version includes bugfixing of known problems and few new features. Have a look at the documentation. Please post questions, problems, suggestions etc. in the appropriate Thread in the German user forum forum.vtiger.de.

Our team is working hectically on fixing bugs found in the last round of validation. Most of the recently identified issues are to do with UTF-8 support in the vtiger plug-ins. We only uncovered them in the latest round of validation. We are improving the test process to catch these early and putting the product through rigorous testing focused on Security, data integrity, and functionality.

At this juncture we feel it is important to spend the extra few days, to address the critical and major issues before releasing the product. Its going to take us another 5-6 days to complete this process, which puts us right in the middle of the “holiday week” between Christmas and New Year. Instead of releasing it that week, we have decided to release 5.0.4 in Jan 1st week. We will be using the extra few days to update the documentation, and get the product ready for release.

We apologize for the delay, and would like to assure you that the team is working hard on completing some important bug-fixes and putting the finishing touches.

First of all, thank you all for the great support you have provided to us in the validation part I of vtigerCRM 5.0.4. We kindly request you to provide us with the same support in the validation part II of the vtigerCRM 5.0.4.

In this build we have focussed mainly on the security issues to avoid the sql injection attacks. For this we have changed most of the SQL statements to Prepared Statements. Some of the other major issues that we have addressed are as follows:

2. Import/Export functionalities for Trouble Tickets & Vendors module
3. Outgoing Server configuration with Gmail SMTP
4. UTF-8 support for WebMail
5. FTP Backup Script Fix

Dear community,

i’m proud to announce the general availability of the alpha version of SyncML Support for vtiger CRM.

This code is for testing purpose !

We have only french doc for now, but installing it is really easy.

Just Copy syncml folder on your root vtiger directory, and be sure your webserver can write on file syncml.log thats all.

We will provide an english en user doc if necessery.

A vtigerforge project will follow in the few next day, for those want to improve/correct… this contribution.

The 5.0.4 release is now postponed to the middle of November. We fixed a SOAP related security issue that was recently identified by our community members (thank you Sebastien Kummer & Mirko Ross) . In addition, we identified some database related issues that could affect the functionality, which required a shift to PreparedStatements. Because of the critical nature of these fixes, we are repeating the validation testing cycle.

Our goal is to release a stable 5.0.4, and we would like to request your help in the validation process (a new validation build will be put up shortly). I would like to thank the community members who have moved fast to update the language packs for 5.0.4.

Because of the delay, 5.1 release has been postponed to February. We are excited about a bunch of feature enhancements that are planned to be rolled out in 5.1. I hope to communicate more details about 5.1 features soon after 5.0.4 is released.

We thank our community for helping us in validation phase of vtiger 5.0.4 and expect the same going forward.

During this session we have identified more than 100 bugs. We have fixed most of the critical, blocker and major bugs.

At present, we are working with security issues that was identified during the validation phase.

We will update you with more information soon, kindly bear with us in the meantime.
