vtigersolutions projects modules for vtiger 5.1.x - a set of three modules (Projects, Operations and Deadlines) to deal with Project Management inside vtiger CRM
All of you who have written in your reviews that there are bugs in VTS Project Modules better be submitting those bugs to the Bug Tracker, so that the developers can fix them and make VTS Project Modules the bitchin' feature set that it is! Goto http://trac.vtiger.com/cgi-bin/trac.cgi to submit bugs!
As you know the module occure some problems during migration to a new 5.2.0 vTiger.
Could you please give us some recommendation about how it should be deleted from the old 5.1.0 version
until start the migration process in order to avoid this problems.
The problem is described here: http://forums.vtiger.com/viewtopic.php?t=35400&highlight=record+trying+access
I wants to review it with a good rating, but I can't. Is bug in it, so I cannot make new projects/timeline/operation. Error: Warning: array_push() [function.array-push]: First argument should be an array in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/crm/include/database/PearDatabase.php on line 496
A really great addition to the CRM. Really easy to use and extremely useful. I have some comments (or I suppose, future feature requests) maybe for a paid version to get it developed sooner?
1. It would be nice to have an option to add the task (operation)and deadline information from within the Projects form itself
2. Is it possible to add sub-tasks (operations)?
3. Is it possible to display a table in the Projects form listing each task and be able to click the link to edit task details?
3. Is it possible to change the word 'operation' to task throughout the entire module? as operation doesn't sound right in my particular area.
Maybe I am not familair enough with the extension/ vTiger and it already does the above? I created my records as follows:
a. Created initial project
b. Opened deadlines and entered details and selected linked project
e. Opened Operation and re-entered the task name by re-opening Deadline, copying and then re-opening Operation and pasting title (would it not be better to have operation with deadline details included?)
Am I doing it right or is there an easier way?
Kind regards and thanks for a much needed add on to the CRM
This is a perfect example how vtiger extensions should get designed. Excellent functionalities, clear concept and flawless installations. I am impressed, 5 stars!
We're happy to announce the release of version 1.0, which includes the auto-selection of related project when adding operations and deadlines from project related lists, and a few other fixing / enhancements.
1. As my colleague below also said, when adding an operation (a task) from the "project screen" the system doesn't automatically fill in the related project field on the task/operation
2. On the account's 'Account Information' page there should be a tab with all his projects listed.
3. When adding an operation (a task) i am missing an 'upload-field, when i brief the designers in my company i always attach a file, this isn't possible
This application records just the basics you need to track projects. dotProject is wonderful but sometimes its sophistication slows you down when you just want to add a task, assign it to someone, and track their progress as that person updates how far along they are on it. This module allows you to do this pretty darn easily.
The install was easy, and the operations list view works like the vtiger list views in that you can create filters and select which columns you want to see for each filter. We created filters for each consultant based on assigned to, and progress NOT EQUAL to 100% This allows us to use various "global" filters to see the big picture, and gives us the ability to drill into each consultant to see what's on their plate and so they can see what's on their plate. all of this? Awesome!
Why not a 5 star? There are a couple quirks... like adding an operation (a task) from the "project screen" doesn't automatically fill in the related project field on the task/operation and it should because of the context. HARDLY a show stoppper. Also, having the project/operations completely separate from the calendar system makes notifications impossible without writing a clunky workflow or something. Calendar handles task reminders better than a workflow "each save" or "initial save" can do. (cron like task/activity/appointment reminders like the calendar has for your project deadlines and operations etc would be really slick.
This is a new application, it's a clean vtLib project as far as I can tell, it works great, I think it's worth your time to test drive it. It's genuis is its simplicity!
I like the tools a lot. They prove helpful with managing a project from a high level.
Have you considered integrating with the customer portal? I think that would be very useful to share certain projects, operations, and deadlines with the client through the customer portal.
this install was completely seamless, absolutlty fantastic, this will be a great help to our web design team, being able to have projects right inside vtiger is great for us,
just a thought for an upgrade, would it be possible to create a invoice from the project, like you can quotes?, any way we love this new addition, many thanks to you all, it will help us out very much,
