Great work, and great new functionalities. We proceeded with the upgrade, but it only did the DB migration. It did not finished the migration proceess of the modules, so it only shows the new modules tabs, but when you select the module the following message appears:

Module name is missing. Please check the module name.

We’ll be working to try and fix this.

Ed

When I ran a migration from my 5.1.0 install, with a “copy database” to a new database, the script that ran never updated the vtiger_version, so the install never completed. This was easily corrected by me updating the vtiger version in the database manually.

Nitin, thanks for your quick response. We followed the youtube video on migration. After the DB upgrade the next button on the migration page does not appear, and it simply stays in that page without doing anything else. When we go to the login page, it is still marked as vtiger 5.1.0. I checked on the modules directory, and the new modules do no show, and we lost the ones we had installed (like timesheets). Any clue on this? Our apache is pointing to the 5.1 path, do we have to change this?

Ed

Hi

Thanks for the great work, I am excited to test the new version. I realise this is a RC so there will be bugs.

On migrating on two different installs the database changes did not complete. On the first install I manually changed the database version number and things started working.

For the second install I watched the migration video. The last successful sql query was reported as:

ALTER TABLE vtiger_potential ADD INDEX `vt_pot_sales_stage_amount_idx` (amount, sales_stage)

then nothing. The video show a lot more sql queries that didn’t execute on my system before the version number was updated.

Where would I find the sql to run to complete the migration.

Thanks
Don

Hi Ed,

Looks like the php is timing out during the migration process, increase the timeout to a good value. Well if you have large data then please don’t use the data copy option and in place of this take a command line dump before going further.

The first error I receive when trying to migrate is:

ADONewConnection: Unable to load database driver ”

I have migration issues as well.

Mine seem to be related to MyISAM, and not being able to convert to InnoDB.

In one instance, I got an error stating that InnoDB does not support full text, or something to that effect.

Also, will migration work with custom fields, and mods?

I had some criticism about the vTiger code which I had discussed with Gopal, one of the core developers. Anyways, I was awaiting the release of vTiger 5.0 unpatiently and as soon as an RC was there I was grapping it

@Rev:

Thanks for your feedback.

With Module Manager, most of the properties of a field can be modified. Few things that you would feel missing is modifying the field label and the field type itself.

Field label can always be modified through the language file.

Changing the field type will be taken up as an enhancement in one of our future releases.

I am not sure what more info you need. The referenced file is not anywhere to be found. You get the message in the web after filling in the system info and pressing the next button.

If there is a log file or something I will be glad to get it for you.

I am not sure if I did the install corectly because I see no howto but I did the same as with 5.1 upgrade. Extracted the tar.gz to /var/www/html/vtigercrm. The original destination. Then chmod the files then go to the web page and start the migration. Do I need to do something else. A link to a howto would be good;)

I do not know how to find what is calling the file it can not find. Locate says that file is not on this computer anywhere. /var/www/html/vtigercrm/adodb/drivers/adodb-_dbc_type_.inc.php

Thanks,
Don

I get the following error message when trying to migrate: Fatal error: Class ‘Vtiger_Language’ not found in /applications/vtigercrm/include/utils/utils.php on line 4586

Can anyone help?

DonH

The tar.gz file has a config.inc.php file that is 0 in size. It wipes out the original and causes the problem above. Now I have some db problems probably caused by customizations. I will try to get around those.

Thanks,
Don

I need to change the pdf output for invoices etc.
But I cannot find the file that defines the layout.
Do you know what file needs to be changed?

Looks like you have replaced the old source and then trying to migrate. This is why migration is failing for you. Just follow this documentation [link removed] as the documentation is for vtigercrm510 but the steps involved for migration are same. You can also check our video tutorial.http://www.youtube.com/vtigercrm#p/c/7CAC2ED36A99B0CE/2/GlGDaxhYfrY

My migration goes like Edv. The DB update is completed successfully, but there is no Next button at the end of page. Browsing the homepage (index.htm) of the new site still shows Migration button. The php.ini max_execution_time is set to 600.

We are testing the migration on XAMPP on CentOS with 40MB of DB data.

I am unable to migrate because I can’t change vtiger_leaddetails from MyISAM to InnoDB.

Why it is MyISAM in the fist place? Good question. I must have changed it manually at some point, cause I read somewhere MyISAM was faster. Yup your right, I’m an idiot. The expression, “A little information is a dangerous thing,” also comes to mind. I digress.

Another strange thing I noticed when creating a brand new 5.1 installation for comparison purposes, was that the primary key in my old populated table is `leadid` but when I did a fresh install creating an empty vtiger_leaddetails it was listed as `lead_no`

My investigation leads me to the conclusion I need to somehow change the FULLTEXT status of my file before it will convert and therefore be able to migrate.

The below is an excerpt from my old vtiger_leaddetails

PRIMARY KEY (`leadid`),
KEY `leaddetails_converted_leadstatus_idx` (`converted`,`leadstatus`),
FULLTEXT KEY `comments` (`comments`),
FULLTEXT KEY `comments_2` (`comments`)
) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_unicode_ci;

Any pointers as to how to mix my FULLTEXT problem?

The final 5.2 Release will support a migration path from 5.2 RC, for those clients who want to start using 5.2 RC right away. Here is a brief history of 5.2 development schedule:

The migration seems to stop after the database is updated…

510 ==> 520 Database changes — Ends.

It just hangs there. If I try to go to the main site, I get the option to Migrate again…any help would be great.

Just want to check, does the new release supports MySQL 5.1. Is it advisable to run on this or 5.0.

Hallo @all,

MyServer Config:
– Apache/2.2.9 (Debian) PHP/5.2.13-0.dotdeb.1 with Suhosin-Patch

– mySQL Server Version 5.1.48-0.dotdeb.0
– mySQL Client Version 5.0.51a

I had trouble with Migration vrom 5.1 > 5.2RC .
I think the trouble cames from “$innodbEngineCheck = true;”

But, all my Tables in Old and New DB are in InnoDB.
In the Configuratin Wizard in step “Confirm Configuration Settings” the wizard prompt “xSQL-DB -> ERR : This Database is not found. Provide the correct database name” and in Details it says “InnoDB Engine Check:Not Fixed” but this is Not Correct there are 2 DB first is the original and all Tables are in INODB, and secend DB the new one is an copy.

any help would be great.

Is there any way to import invoices/quotes in 5.2? I was waiting for this version to see if it is doable?

Hi Tanweer.

Are you talking about importing quotes or Invoice though CSV file. Then it is not present in vtiger 5.2.0.

In case you need customization service for this feature kindly send mail to [email protected] .

@caracush

Did you say “all” your tables were InnoDB now? Is that right?

Anyway I am still somewhat stuck trying to drop all the full text indexes so I can convert my vtiger_leaddetails to InnoDB so I can try to migrate.

Meanwhile I remember having similar problems to what you described. I just replaced my config.inc.php with the original one (the empty one that shows file size “0”) and was able to start the process from the beginning. At some point you should get to a page that allows you (forces you)to convert your existing tables from MyISAM to InnoDB. IF it fails, read the report to see which files didn’t convert. Then you will be stuck where I am. Whoopie!

Of course if you are lucky the conversion will work for you.

Cheers!

I just want to import invoices, if .cvs is available, that’s great, if not can it be done through back end? Can you give some instructions, I see a lot of people are looking for this feature in the up coming version.

@MARK
ok, i misstate the DB validiate 5.1 DB script in Migration Step, but the next problem after successfully and completed DB update of “510 ==> 520 Database changes — Ends.” is: i dont see the Next-Button.
