Hi, I tried a fresh install of 5.1 and then 5.2 and both give me the same thing:

Warning: require_once(include/database/PearDatabase.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/web/simplicityhosting.com/html/vtigercrm/include/utils/utils.php on line 34

I look underneath and include/database/PearDatabase.php is definitely there. I need to know why this has not been addressed? I saw it previously and they just told the guy to load 5.0.4 which didn’t make much sense.

Hi Randy,

Please check if your server configuration meets all the pre-requisites for vtiger CRM installation (especially the php settings)

Yes, prereqs met, especially php, and would have nothing to do with it finding that file anyways, please offer a good reason why it is not finding that file or something to address at the source and/or configuration level.

migrated successfully from 5.1.0 to 5.2.0.
Thanky you all great job!!!!!

One question:
I would prefer to see all the details automatically ungrouped (like before) to see all invoices, e-mails, orders, trouble tickes etc. without having to klick the headline. Is there a view option or do I have to edit the code?
I know that I need to klick it only once per session, but I log on and of quite often…

This is great news. Just a quick question I was looking at the trac for 5.2 and noticed that there are still 480 odd issues/bugs. As you resolve these are you going to release patched versions for download (ie. 5.2.1)?

I don’t see any information on 5.2.0 in either the website or the mailing list. The downloads page in the website points to 5.1.0 releases. Why is it so?

You should at least post a thread in vtiger-developers list, right?

Please change the icons and use Tango icons at [link removed] . They are public domain, used widely in open source, are scalable and come in any size you want, and look far better than what is currently there.

I downloaded this pack, vtiger CRM 5.2.0 GZ, but the release notes in this pack are still from the 5.0.4…
I will be doing a upgrade, and would like to know the exact steps to take.
Could you please update the README.txt or the Release_notes.htm file in the pack?

The released extension works with Thunderbird 3.1.4 here.

The development version I’m building on the forge will be updated shortly. The apiVersion has changed from 0.2 to 0.22. I’ve made a small modification to the api test so that this build will work against both 5.1.0 and 5.2.0.

I’ll cut a fresh xpi for 0.4.1 shortly.

Hello all, this is exciting news. We’re using VT 5.1

I looked through the documentation, but couldn’t find anything on migration.

What’s the recommended migration path from 5.1 to 5.2? Do we copy the new 5.2 source files onto the existing 5.1 directory and run install.php? Or do we create a fresh 5.2 installation and try to upgrade the old 5.1 database?

Looking forward to some feedback on this.

As a follow up to my last post, i tried to do an migration on 5.1.0 and received the following error:

Missing file: C:\Program Files\vtigercrm-5.2.0\apache\htdocs\vtigerCRM\adodb/drivers/adodb-_dbc_type_.inc.php
ADONewConnection: Unable to load database driver ”

The PHP/system check passed in the previous step.

Any ideas?

I normally would not have done this but I decided I wanted the install on a separate VPS so I created a new one, did patches/updates, and did a fresh 5.2.0 install and everything went very smoothly! Perhaps one day I will revisit why the install did not work on the original location but I believe even if it would work it cannot coexist with that environment (some PHP settings need to differ) so it is most likely a mute point. Thank you for the wonderful program, learning to customize now…be well,

Hi Amit,

We would always suggest you to use the GA candidate rather than an RC version. Several critical and major issues have been addressed post 5.2.0 RC. It is recommended to move to 5.2.0 GA if you are using 5.2.0 RC.

You do not need to start fresh if you already have 5.2.0 RC installed. We support migration patch from RC to GA. All you need to do is backup your database using Settings -> Backup of you vtiger setup. Then start with the Migration. Please follow the migration procedure properly as suggested by the documentation link below:-

Hi Amit,

Leads are not related to Accounts, so not sure how you want to see the Account in the Leads page.Campaign is related to lead and if you want to see Campaign in Leads detail view, Change the CRM view to Singlepane View, You can do this in Settings > Default Module View

Hi there:

My upgrade from 5.1 to 5.2 was successful.

However, after upgrade, any changes I made to the data (e.g. updating a purchase order, updating a contact record), I always get the following error message:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@www.sourcing-direct.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Could you please let me know what this is about, and why I am getting this error? Does it have anything to do with the file property?

Hi, install of 5.2 from source does not work on Ubuntu 10.04. I get past the modules install step an then the web interface remains opaque indefinitely. @Gernot It seems if you had all of the PHP configurations as required and restarted PHP you would not be getting NOTICE errors. You should go back and verify that you have done that and then run through the install again.

Not sure which Migration instructions are you pointing to. Please refer to the following documentation link which covers both the migration from lower version to higher, as well as migration from one server to another –

Note:
Since you said you have customized your older version of vtiger, you will have to be carefully migrate your older changes. If you have made changes to the files, then you may have to manually merge those files and then proceed with the database migration.

Hi,

I have evaluated vtiger 5.1 on my local machine. During the evaluation I configured and customized the system and now it is a time to move it to external location. Obviously, I’d like to work now with 5.2 system.
Unfortunately, migration instructions explain only how to migrate the system from lower version to a higher one, but not how to transfer it from one machine to another. Could you please help me with that?

Moving vtiger is actually quite easy.

1. Backup the db. I just use the mysqldump command:

mysqldump -u root -p vtiger_db_name > backup_db.sql

2. Tar up your existing vtiger directory tree.

tar zcvf ~/vtiger_files.tar.gz path/to-vtigercrm/directory

3. On your new machine create a new database (UTF-8) and user/password (phpmyadmin is quite good for this),

4. Import the old database file

mysql -u root -p new_vtiger_db_name

Dear VTigerCRM Team,

Been a vTigerCRM user for 6 months now (migrated from ACT, and never looked back). This is the BEST upgrade yet. It is 10 times faster. The webmail is a hundred times faster. Here is a tip for those who are upgrading from 5.1.0 via the source mode: BACKUP YOUR config.inc.php. The migration wizard may erase its contents and you will get the ‘Missing file: /var/www/sites/vtmkrt/docs/adodb/drivers/adodb-_dbc_type_.inc.php’ error. If you get this, copy the old contents from config.inc.php, and pasted it in the new config.inc.php (like everyone else said in 5.2.0 RC). Thanks for coming out with this release. I can’t wait for more db optimization updates. GOOD WORK TEAM!
