This chapter of Big Little Things highlights the <a href=\"https:\/\/help.vtiger.com\/article\/116912162-My-Preferences---My-Tags\">Tags<\/a> feature. Let\u2019s dive in and discover more about using Tags in Vtiger CRM.<\/p>\n<p><b>What are Tags<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Tags are a powerful tool that helps users organize and categorize specific records by labeling them with short words or phrases. Tags enable users to quickly identify and categorize those records based on the Tags applied. <\/p>\n<p>There are two types of Tags in Vtiger, Private and Shared:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Private Tags<\/b> &#8211; By default, when a user creates a new tag it will be private to that user. Only the user who created the tag will be able to search for and categorize records based on this Tag.<\/li>\n<li><b>Shared Tags<\/b> &#8211; Are accessible by all users in the CRM. Users can easily create a Tag on the fly when applying one to a record in List View and Summary View. By default, the system will automatically create lists based on the Tags linked to records. When users open the list menu in a module, they will see options to select and view lists of records that are either \u201cShared Tags\u201d (Public) or \u201cMy Tags\u201d (Private). <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/voeyenew.vtiger.com\/s\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Tags-List-Menu-1-1024x454.png\" alt=\"Tags - List Menu\" width=\"1024\" height=\"454\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-12648\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vtiger.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Tags-List-Menu-1-1024x454.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.vtiger.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Tags-List-Menu-1-300x133.png 300w, https:\/\/www.vtiger.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Tags-List-Menu-1-768x340.png 768w, https:\/\/www.vtiger.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Tags-List-Menu-1-1536x681.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.vtiger.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Tags-List-Menu-1.png 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This makes it easy to quickly reference all of the records in a specific module that are grouped by a specific Tag. <\/p>\n<p>Users can also create their own custom lists and <a href=\"https:\/\/help.vtiger.com\/article\/132347962-Creating-Marketing-Lists\">Marketing Lists<\/a> using Tags as part of the list conditions. For example, let\u2019s say you attended a conference in November and December. At each conference, you gathered some contact information and applied relevant Tags to their Contact records in the CRM, detailing which conference they attended. Now, you are wanting to create a Marketing List to send an <a href=\"https:\/\/help.vtiger.com\/article\/130375825-Using-Email-Campaigns-for-Marketing\">Email Campaign<\/a> to all the Contacts, regardless of which month they attended.
