How to attract and retain the best employees in your organization?

- From the CEO’s Desk

The Great Resignation, also known as the Big Quit and the Great Reshuffle is an ongoing economic trend in which employees have voluntarily resigned from their jobs en masse, beginning in early 2021 (Wiki). According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, four million Americans have left their jobs in 2021.

Hiring top-notch talents is a great challenge as filling the gaps with employees with the same skill set is near impossible. As business owners, you should explore the option of retaining employees by providing a healthy working environment.

Let us understand the different ways to attract and retain the best employees in an organization.

The 4 best practices for employee retention

Retaining employees is vital to an organization’s success. Here are a few tips and tricks to accomplish your goal:

  • Reduce heavy workload: You can reduce workload by taking proactive steps like streamlining your processes, equal distribution of work, and simplifying day-to-day activities using tools and software. One of the best ways is to implement a CRM application for your business. CRM software helps you increase operational efficiency by automating mundane, repetitive tasks. It helps you assign roles and responsibilities and distribute work fairly. A CRM also facilitates superior collaboration and boosts employee productivity as well.
  • Encourage work-life balance: Desist from the practice of saying no if your employees ask for leave after a long stint at the workplace. Also, abstain from assigning work during weekends or festivals. This is when your employees want to devote their time to family and friends completely, and you should respect that. Taking frequent breaks from work is essential to remain motivated and efficient for the best outcome.
  • Provide opportunities to grow: Introduce skills development courses for employees to help them grow professionally. Allow them to work in different roles and projects to acquire experience. When they acquire new skills and knowledge, they can bring new ideas to the table that will eventually lead to growth in your business.
  • Facilitate open communication: When you keep an open channel for communication, employees will feel free to share their ideas, concerns, and feedback. It will help you address serious issues like health problems and even harassment. You will find satisfied employees willing to work happily in a safe and healthy environment.

As mentioned above, the heavy workload is the top contributing factor to employee turnover. A desirable solution is to implement a CRM to manage your business. Vtiger offers features and tools for user role configuration, collaboration, conversations, automation, AI, analytics, and project management. Smoother conversations and seamless collaboration - integrate your CRM with communication apps.

Do we have control over what app our customers use to communicate? Of course not. There are multiple apps available today - MS Teams, Google Meet, Zoom, etc., and we can only sway customer preferences, not decide for them.

Now imagine using all these apps to drive conversations with your customers. You will have shared files, discussed deals and offers, or even resolved issues.

How will you save this information? You may find it difficult to manage and track this scattered communication. After all, to ensure business continuity, you will have to map every aspect and every data point related to a customer’s journey.

Today, many CRMs integrate with communication apps, allowing you to save and share data. You also have access to the latest customer information - contacts and deals, to prepare for meetings and make intelligent conversations. The CRMs also allow you to save records of your meetings that will help you make informed decisions. And you can do all of this from the CRM itself.

Vtiger CRM integrates with MS Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom. The integrations help you manage your conversations effectively to build lasting customer relationships.

My Favorite Feature

Deals Module And Appointment Pages

My fav features are the Deals module and Vtiger Appointment Pages

I use the Deals module a lot. It gives information about different deal stages, displays pipelines, and helps you create deals on the run, and so much more. Now that, Calculus AI is a part of the module, I also get to know which deals are most likely to succeed.

My other favorite is Vtiger Appointment Pages, which helps in scheduling meetings with customers and prospects. I can customize the look and feel of the page and even share the pages with the customers.
