Vtiger CRM 6.2.0 GA Release

After 4 month span from vtiger 6.1.0 release, we’re happy to announce vtiger 6.2.0 release. Our efforts towards this release is to make product more stable.

We would take an opportunity to thank entire community for there support towards release and making product more stable.

Our special thanks for the following contributors.

  • Simone Travaglini and Matteo Baranzoni – UI enhancements for the Customer Portal.
  • Sanehdeep Singh, ControlCase International Pvt. Ltd – worked closely to get session fixation.

Some of the notable enhancements includes:

  • Google Calendar api upgraded to support V3 api
  • Security fix for session hijacking (refer changeset for 6.1.0 or 6.0.0)

Closed over 200 issues reported on trac.vtiger.com. Closed tickets also include long standing issues from 5.4.0 and also patches shared by developers.

Prasad, While the login page says 6.2.0, I cannot make Google Sync function. It still says last sync 4 months ago. The upgrade was done by my site hosting vendor, probably via Softaculous. Some suggestions to help evangelize use of VTiger and sell the brand in the Open Source world: The instructions to install and to migrate are about as clear as “mud”, as we say in the USA. If one is migrating from 6.1.0 to 6.2.0, does one simply place the migration unzipped files in the VTiger folder of 6.1.0? How about a step by step for people just learning to install and administer this fantastic product? By step by step, I mean STEP BY STEP. Do not assume anyone knows anything about unzipping a tarball. Otherwise you wind up with extremely interested people like myself, who may ultimately bring on demand migrations to you, extremely frustrated with almost nowhere to turn. Also, within the program, (not the sign in page), how can one tell which exact version of VTiger one is running? In a Windows program, generally there is an “about” screen under the “Help” dropdown, so that one can always conveniently tell which version of a program… Read more »
